The jury: Luca Dotti, Wayne Brannon, Sian Mary Lloyd, Jonathan Ashman, Marcello Lotti

Chevrolet gathered 5 judges from different background and various European countries to deliberate for the “Young? Creative? Chevrolet!” 2008 best Visual Arts project and elect the third and second pan-European winners.

· Jonathan Ashman, President Touring Car Commission FIA
· Wayne Brannon, Chevrolet Europe Executive Director
· Luca Dotti, Visual Art Expert, Graphic designer, Nudesign
· Sian Mary Lloyd, TV presenter (BBC, ITV)
· Marcello Lotti, Managing Director WTCC

The young students were asked to create a new graphic design for the Chevrolet Lacetti/Nubira. The best interpretation will be applied on a racing car officially launched for a one-off at a WTCC race this coming fall.

Adi Suminc, School: Visoka Sola Za Dizajn, Slovenia

The project presented by National Slovenian Visual Arts winner, Adi Suminc, from Visoka Sola Za Dizajn, received the best appreciations from the judges:

This project “breaks through”, it shows great freedom and creativity: this is a unique approach, out of the box; it embodies the young spirit of the contest.

The winner will be invited to a weekend with the Chevrolet team to discover the organization of such an event and see his decorated car racing. Keep watching..

SECOND PRIZE - Rafael Gonçalves and Ricardo Trindade from IADE - Instituto de Artes Visuais Design e Marketing, Portugal

The panel of judges’ final appreciation: This project has great visual appeal, it is very strong on branding and emphasizes both the spirit of Chevrolet and of the competition.

THIRD PRIZE - Clemence Pineton de Chambrun from Emile Cohl, France

The panel of judges’ final appreciation: We like the idea: building the decoration upon a visual interpretation of speed.

This was the first step of the European competition. On July 30, another panel of judges (composed by artists, designers, journalists) from several European countries will meet in Zurich – home of Chevrolet Europe - to elect the best projects in the four other disciplines of the competition (Fashion, Interior Design, Photography and Video).

Finally, all the winners and judges will gather in Turin – 2008 World Design Capital – for the awards ceremony on September 12.
